John Wicks turned 1 on June 4, and we had a small party with family and close church friends on June 7. We gave JW a water table for his birthday, and it was a hit! The boys had a ball playing on the porch {supervised by my parents} while I got things ready for the party, and then after everyone ate cake. {Is anyone surprised that JW was a huge fan of his cake?} It was a treat for the boys to have three of their cousins in town to celebrate. My only regret from the day is that I didn’t get more pictures! I neglected to get a family picture or one of me with the birthday boy. Second kid probs. When we look back years from now, it will be very hard to distinguish between L’s and JW’s smash cake pictures. It was very handy to have the decor and party hat already made, though!
The boys came straight in from playing with the water table for JW to open gifts {with A LOT of help from big brother}. Hence, Luke’s lack of clothing. I did manage to get an outfit back on John Wicks. Luke thoroughly enjoyed the present opening. Since we enforce sharing as much as possible, I guess he understood that JW getting new toys was a pretty sweet deal for him too. He helped unwrap each gift and exuberantly thanked each giver.I did have to continually remind him, “This is John Wicks’ toy, but I bet he will share.”
It was a fun day celebrating our sweet little one-year-old!
Cute cute pictures!!! Looks like it was fun! I haven’t even had time to talk to your mom about it. She and I need to catch up ASAP.
