Summer Fun

Earlier today, I was wondering why the children who live next door were outside playing basketball on a school day. Then, it dawned on me. It’s summer. They’re out of school. Duh. And I had a moment of jealousy. Because we’re still schooling it up and will be all summer. Don’t fret, though. We’ve managed to squeeze in some fun between all the reading and writing and working and learning of Greek. On Thursday, we walked to this park near our house to feed the ducks. PARTY ON, right?. Funny how your idea of “fun” changes when you have a child.

Mr. Boy LOVED it. As did his father.

I’m just realizing that we looked like the Auburn poster family that day. It wasn’t intentional, but War Eagle anyhow.

In addition to all the fun that is feeding ducks, Adam and I got to have a date night on Friday. Alone. This really was a treat. We went to see The Avengers in 3D.

Now, let’s be honest. I would rather have seen What to Expect When You’re Expecting, but I knew Adam really wanted to see The Avengers. So, I decided to be a sweet wife and actually suggest that we go see it. I mean, it was only fair. He endures many a rom-com/chic-flic rented on Netflix. Plus, I loved the Iron Man movies, so I was thinking, “how bad could it be?”

Not too bad, actually. I really did enjoy it. Now, don’t get me wrong. Avengers is the definition of a “shoot ’em up” movie. I mean… the fighting, explosions, lazer beam/fire/spear throwing, and what-not goes on forever and ever and ever. And all that stuff is pretty intriguing for the first 10 minutes. But 30 minutes later, I’m getting a little bored, not to mention, exhausted from all the hullabaloo.

But Robert Downey, Jr. helped me get through it because, oh my gosh, he is so stinkin’ funny. And good-lookin’, to boot! 🙂

Regardless of the movie choice, it’s always fun to go out with my own good-lookin’ man! So, yay for date nights! And the feeding of ducks, too!
